The Pharmacy Unit meets all kinds of medicine needs and pharmacy service expectations of our inpatients in our hospital and provides a quality and effective service in accordance with the regulations of our Ministry of Health.

The duties of our hospital pharmacists include medicine management, the system and processes of medicine treatments that the institution provides to its patients. This is the multidisciplinary and coordinated activity of healthcare professionals who apply the principles of effective process design and implementation, and selection, purchase, storage, prescription/order, distribution, preparation, administration, management, documentation and monitoring of treatment medicines. Medicine management is the biggest factor in terms of patient safety and organizing it is the main task of our pharmacists.

Medicine management; It encompasses the entire process of selecting and purchasing the drug, storing, preparing, distributing and monitoring the effects of the medicine on the patient. Our pharmacists are important people who have the authority to make decisions about medicines in line with the policies determined by the institution.

Our pharmacists are responsible for checking and reporting incompatibilities of the requested medicine with other medicine in the treatment process, medicine-food interactions, and situations that may cause existing or potential allergic reactions.

Some of the main duties of our hospital pharmacists are stock control, collection, evaluation and reporting of data for medicine groups, follow-up of laws and regulations and communication between units, preparation and applicability of pharmacy practice and working procedures to be carried out within the institution, and consulting physicians and other health staffs about medicines.

Our pharmacists attach great importance to safe medicine use. Medicines with similar names and packaging, the same medicine in different doses, are stored on separate shelves and labeled with a distinctive label.

Medicines are classified among themselves, and then each medicine in our pharmacy, such as high-risk medicines, medicines that need to be protected from light, and medicines with close expiration dates, is distributed to clinics and external units with daily medicine schedules. Medicines are periodically audited by our pharmacists in clinical and external units. Narcotic medicines are procured, stocked, distributed and controlled in accordance with laws, regulations. The storage of medicines subject to the cold chain is done in refrigerators and cold storage rooms where temperature controls are made every day.

The practices in our hospital's pharmacy continue to improve day by day, and these services are provided by a team that closely follows scientific developments and attaches importance to in-service training.
