Bolu's first baby, born with the water birth method, opened his eyes at the Maternity and Child Diseases Unit of İzzet Baysal State Hospital. The baby, who was born 3 kilos and 165 grams, made his parents happy. The family named their baby born in water Erdem. The first birth took place in the Hydrotherapy Accompanied Travay (water birth) unit established in the Izzet Baysal State Hospital Maternity and Child Diseases Unit in Bolu. Hasret Ayvalı, who wants to give birth to her baby by normal delivery and works as a midwife in the same hospital, gave birth to her baby Erdem Ayvalı on the 1st September by water birth method. The water birth performed by Operator Doctor Bekir Gülaç, Ayvalı couple's baby Erdem Ayvalı was born 3 kilos and 165 grams. Expressing his feelings after the birth, father Isa Ayvalı said that accompanying the birth and experiencing the feeling of fatherhood with the first water birth is an indescribable feeling.

THE METHOD IS VERY GOOD

Mother Hasret Ayvalı (30), who had her child with the water birth method, which was a first in Bolu, said, "I wanted a normal birth, but I was worried about how this process would go, I was wondering if I could give birth by vaginal delivery. Water birth was also vouchsafed first to me. It was opened 10 days before me. It was a very good experience for me. It was a very helpful method to manage the birth process. But it was not just the tools, the labor of our team was more important than all. I would like this method again when I want to give birth again. I would also recommend it to anyone who is going to give birth. Being able to manage pain during labor is the most important thing for normal delivery. Water is very important in the management of the travail. It was very good for me in terms of relaxing the muscles. It increased my pain tolerance very much and helped a lot with the birth”.

IT WAS A FIRST IN BOLU

Performing the first water birth in Bolu, Op. Dr. Bekir Gülaç said; “Water birth is a method we call labor accompanied by hydrotherapy. It is a program implemented by the ministry in order to encourage normal birth recently. It is a birth method that is currently established in 13 centers in 11 provinces in Turkey. It is a great chance for us that this has been implemented in Bolu. Water birth exists in only one state institution in Istanbul. The benefits of water birth, a method that shortens the birth process of the patient. In addition to relieving pain, it is a method that increases the patient's endurance to labor pains. It is also a method that reduces conditions such as birth-related cuts and tears. Not every patient is suitable for water birth. Especially large babies, babies with developmental delays, patients with high blood pressure, those with heart disease, those with asthma, and in cases where there are serious problems with the baby, water birth may not be very suitable. So it is not right to say that this method is suitable for everyone”.
