Baby Friendly Hospital
In order to encourage breast milk, to raise awareness of mothers about breastfeeding and to give them the right breastfeeding habits, the Ministry of Health's efforts were initiated in 1991 in the Breastfeeding Promotion and Baby-Friendly Hospitals Program in hospitals providing maternity and child services. The aim of this program, which was started, was determined to ensure that breastfeeding becomes successful and permanent.
Our hospital has been a “baby-friendly hospital” since 2002, and it received the titles of “mother-friendly hospital” and “baby-friendly neonatal intensive care” in 2018.
Our hospital aims to help mothers to breastfeed their babies in the best possible way through health professionals who provide information on breast milk and breastfeeding, and who have received the necessary training immediately after birth.
As Baby Friendly Hospital, all of our employees receive breast milk training. Breastfeeding and breastfeeding trainings are given regularly to our mothers during pregnancy, birth and postpartum period.
Within the scope of the Ministry of Health's efforts to encourage breastfeeding and to provide mothers with information and correct habits about breastfeeding, the "Baby Friendly" Hospitals program was launched to ensure that breastfeeding becomes a successful and established practice in hospitals where maternity services are provided.
Our hospital, which provides maternity services, informs expectant mothers about breast milk and breastfeeding from pregnancy, enables mothers to breastfeed their babies immediately after birth, and helps mothers on how to breastfeed their babies with its health personnel trained in line with current information, has received the title of "Baby Friendly Hospital".
As of 04.10.2019, our breastfeeding counseling and lactation polyclinic started to serve in our Gynecology and Childhood Unit.
